2024

2024 was a rough year!  Early drenching rains in the spring with almost no rain during the summer shocked the iris and we lost over 100 varieties. The early rains came with very warm temperatures causing the bloom season for all varieties to be about two weeks earlier than normal, first blooms were March 23.  Although, the weather may have been a blessing in disguise since I needed to revamp and raise the gardens where most of the iris I lost were located.  So, the plan is to remove almost all iris in these beds, supplement with compost, sand and fertilizer and replant newer varieties in 2025.  I added one small half-moon shaped garden in 2024 with about 60 varieties of bearded iris. And my new love for Aril Breds caused the purchase of another 50+ varieties.

2023

First blooms were April 9 with three SDB's Ray Jones, Raspberry Ice   and It's Not Over, being the first and not far behind Ulalena AB bloomed on April 10. And I added another 20+ Aril Breds.

2022

Early Sunshine and Little Mohee, both MDB's were the first to show on April 5th this year.  The first SDB to bloom was Stitch Witch on April 6th.  The first AB's to bloom were Omar's Eye and Desert Snow April 17 and 18 respectively.  Blatant was the first TB to bloom on April 19th and my last picture taken was of Silver Years TB on May 21st.  I added approximately 25 new varieties of Aril Breds this year.

2021

Spanish Rainbows SDB, was the first to bloom on April 13.  I had very few dwarf iris and only one Aril Bred in the gardens up to this point.  If memory serves me, I added 75+ dwarfs this year and around 10 Aril Breds.  Three new gardens were established and some major replanting and organizing occurred in numerous gardens.
